Hudson Benites Named 2025 Grow the Dream Scholar

PLYMOUTH, MN (July, 2025) — Prep Network announced the year three winner of the Grow the Dream scholarship award today. Minnetonka High School’s Hudson Benites has been named the 2025 Grow the Dream Scholarship winner.

Prep Network and the Grow the Dream Foundation share the mission of seeking to make college athletics a reality for more aspiring high schoolers across the country.

The Grow the Dream Scholarship, now in its third year, recognizes graduating seniors who are pursuing a place on an athletic roster at a college or university in the state of Minnesota and excel both on and off the field. In previous years, two winners were selected, each earning a $5,000 per year scholarship (for up to 4 years). To maximize the impact in 2025, we transitioned to a single winner earning $10,000 per year.

MEET THE WINNER

Hudson Benites of Minnetonka High School (MN)

Hudson Benites is a true example of a student-athlete and community leader. A four-year varsity letter winner for Minnetonka Soccer, he earned All-State, All-Conference, and All-Tournament honors, becoming the first Minnetonka player named to two Minnesota High School Soccer All-Tournament Teams. He also captained his Minnesota Thunder Academy ECNL team to back-to-back national playoff appearances and was named to the ECNL Midwest First Team. Off the field, Hudson is a DECA State Champion, Commentary Editor for the Minnetonka Breezes, and co-founder of two student-led clubs focused on graphic design and STEM outreach. His commitment to service includes ongoing volunteer work with Second Harvest Heartland, Kids in Need, and youth coaching through Minnesota Thunder Academy. Hudson will continue his academic and athletic journey at Carleton College.

“Hudson is a driven and passionate individual who shares his love for math and soccer with those around him. He’s a natural leader who brings authenticity and intelligence to every team he joins, consistently making a meaningful impact.” – stated Nick Carroll, Prep Network Co-Founder and CGO

We’re excited to support Hudson as he starts this next chapter at Carleton.
