AI-Powered ‘BallerCam’ built for Youth Sports Streaming

This week, sports live-streaming company BallerTV launched BallerCam, an AI‑powered camera and app that can help users create youth sports broadcasts.
The device has a compact design and wide-angle lens that uses AI to automatically pan, zoom, reframe, and livestream gameplay in real-time.
According to BallerTV, the system is trained on data from over 2 million youth‑sports games. It “recognizes” sports like basketball, soccer, and volleyball. The system can track the action of a sporting event without a user needing to manually follow the ball or players.

Livestream Youth Sports Games
The device works with an iPhone (model 13 Pro or newer), which slides into the BallerCam case. It mounts on a tripod.
A user simply hits “Record,” and the camera takes over to watch and record the game. The camera was built in response to a growing demand for high-quality, low-effort sports content creation at the youth and amateur level. With millions of kids participating in organized sports in the U.S., families, coaches, and recruiters are increasingly seeking ways to document games, build highlight reels, and scout talent.
Most youth games go unrecorded or are filmed with phones from the bleachers. BallerCam targets travel teams, club programs, and school sports that play in venues without built-in camera systems.
BallerCam enters a competitive field that includes companies like Hudl, Veo, and Trace, all of which offer automated sports filming with varying degrees of AI tracking and analytics. GameChanger, owned by DICK’S Sporting Goods, is another player in the space.
Compared to these products, BallerCam’s focus is on portability and simplicity. It also leans into the broader trend of UGC and “prosumer” content, meaning videos created by regular users and distributed widely on social and video platforms.
Sports Video Boom
In the same way tools like DJI drones or GoPro cameras transformed action-sports footage, products like BallerCam could bring a new level of quality to the world of youth sports.
It is priced at $299 for the hardware unit alone and at $399 it comes bundled with a tripod and sling bag. BallerCam requires a subscription for video storage, starting at $99/year.
The camera’s software has tools for live scoring, scoreboard overlays, play tagging, and “highlight clipping” to capture the best plays.
U.S. soccer legend and product ambassador Alex Morgan stated, “It feels like magic—one tap and you’ve got the livestream, the replays, and the highlights.”
For families coaching travel teams or athletes building highlight reels, BallerCam could be a cost‑effective substitute for expensive video crews. The lens offers sideline‑to‑sideline coverage to zoom in on plays.
With instant cloud upload, sharing becomes seamless: fans at home receive live scores and video, while coaches gain on‑demand footage for training purposes.

The launch gives everyday parents and coaches the ability to produce quality livestreams in an affordable and scalable manner. For more information, visit the BallerCam product page.
