This week, Perfect Game announced the final rosters for the 23rd installment of the DICK’s Perfect Game All-American Classic. In a highly anticipated return to the West Coast, Petco Park (San Diego) will host the event August 15-17.
DICK’s Perfect Game All-American Classic is a premier showcase of amateur baseball. It gathers the nation’s 60 top high school standouts for a weekend packed with competition.
This year’s roster is led by top Class of 2026 prospect Grady Emerson of Fort Worth Christian High School (Texas). The 6’1’’ infielder is a three-time gold medalist for Team USA. He competed in the MLB High School Home Run Derby in Atlanta this month. (Emerson finished second to fellow Texas commit Beau Peterson in the derby.)
Several second-generation athletes will round out the roster, including prospects like Joseph Contreras, Jacob Lombard, Miller Sheets, and Trey Ebel, all sons of former major leaguers. See the full roster here.
Past attendees have gone on to illustrious MLB careers: According to Perfect Game, of the 1,126 athletes featured in the first 22 Classics, 850 were drafted, 293 in the first round, and 305 reached the majors. Alumni include Bryce Harper, Freddie Freeman, Gerrit Cole, and Francisco Lindor.
Hall of Fame closer and San Diego Padres legend Trevor Hoffman will serve as Honorary Chairman, returning to the role he held from 2011–2021. Former Padres All-Star Ryan Klesko will coach alongside Hoffman, leading Team West. A roster of MLB veterans, including Phil Nevin, Charlie Manuel, Mo Vaughn, and Alfonso Soriano, rounds out the coaching staff.
The Classic serves not only as a high-profile game but also as a three-day development hub. It features the PG All‑Star Game for the 2027–28 classes, a Launch Hydrate Home Run Challenge, and an awards banquet at downtown San Diego’s Eve venue. All events will stream live on PerfectGame.TV and the PGTV app.
The Classic marks a homecoming for the event, which was held at Chase Field in Arizona over the past three years. Petco Park previously hosted the Classic 14 times between 2006 and 2021, and its return underscores Perfect Game’s deep ties to San Diego.
Perfect Game CEO Rob Ponger says the organization is excited to bring the event back to a beloved venue, celebrating young talent in “one of baseball’s most beautiful ballparks.”
