Kelsey Plum Shouts Out Seattle With New Kicks

Before WNBA champion Kelsey Plum became an All-Star in Los Angeles, she developed her game in the Pacific Northwest as a basketball star at the University of Washington. In August, she debuted a tribute to a Seattle staple with her Under Armour Gum Wall shoes.

On Sunday, Plum showed off the shoes to reporters before a Los Angeles Sparks game. “These are the gum shoes,” Plum said pregame. “When I was in Seattle one of my favorite things to do was go to the gum wall. It’s kind of disgusting, but it’s also really cool if you’ve ever been. So these are just kind of a tribute to the gum wall.”

A wall full of chewed gum may seem a bit off-putting to some, but the bright and colorful basketball shoes add a new level of swagger to the Under Armour brand. The kicks remind me a little bit of the Harden 6s, but have their own light and kid-friendly aesthetic that appeals to youth athletes. The shoes retail at $149.99, with “KP” etched into the soles.

Customs for Kai

Earlier this year, baseball apparel brand 44 Pro gifted famous internet streamer Kai Cenat a custom 44 Pro Glove. Promoting Cenat’s popular Mafiathon 3 streaming series, 44 Pro reposted their gift to Cenat ahead of this winter’s baseball season.

Though Cenat, the most subscribed Twitch streamer in the world, admitted he “doesn’t even play baseball,” he gave a shoutout to 44 Pro for the glove live on his stream. 44 Pro is known for its wide variety of customizable gloves along with bats, batting gloves, and softball gloves. Cenat’s glove featured his name and streamer collective “AMP” stitched into the fabric.

AMP’s black and gold colors and lightning bolt insignia highlight the glove’s smooth customization. 44 Pro’s website gives users the option to create their own baseball and softball accessories to have the best drip on the diamond this upcoming season.
