Though he’s an “O.G.” in the NBA, LeBron James is still on the cutting edge of the basketball shoe scene.
Nike just released the sixth of 23 planned colorways, calling them the LeBron XXIII ‘Bubble Boy.’
The shoe pays homage to the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2020 championship run during the COVID-19 “Bubble” tournament in Orlando, Florida. The $210 collectible dropped Tuesday morning.

Debuting in a cool grey/metallic silver colorway, the shoe “mimics the exterior of a bubble,” with a “silvery chrome application to deliver an iridescent tone,” according to Nike. There are even small “bubbles” in the gelled swoosh.

The sixth edition of the LeBron XXIII is another hypebeast collectible joining “Best in Class,” “Grand Opening,” “The Chosen One and the One Who Chose,” “Miami Twice,” and “Uncharted” editions. Each of the XXIII collection signature shoes represents a different era of “the King’s” illustrious career.

Though today’s youth athletes may not have been alive to see all of LeBron’s career, this latest edition adds another thread to the tapestry of the King’s legacy.
