For the latest edition to our Company on the Rise series, we have NXTRND, an up-and-coming brand in the youth sports-gear industry. Started by brothers Liam and Dylan Burger in Montreal, NXTRND began selling mouthguards and is now an all-around football powerhouse.

Recently named to Forbes “30 Under 30,” the Québec duo are making waves around the sports industry with dripped-out football gear in both Canada and the states.

NXTRND began in 2018 and have slowly exploded their following on social media. On the company’s website, NXTRND says the idea for the brand “emerged as a response to the absence of core brands in the football equipment industry.”

From mouthguards, the brand has expanded into a variety of football gear including gloves, visors, and compression gear. According to Forbes, the company doubled its revenue from 2022 to 2023, and is expecting to reach $25 million in revenue this year.

The stunning visuals on NXTRND’s social media pages embody the confidence, swagger, and flashiness of today’s youth football players. The players nowadays know that if you look good, you feel good, and you play good.

The Canadian brand boasts endorsements from college stars like former 5-star prospect and Oregon receiver Dakorien Moore, Alabama star wideout Ryan Williams, and National Champion Ohio State safety Caleb Downs.

Let’s take a look at some of their merch.

Compression Turtleneck

The brand’s best-selling Core Turtleneck Compression Short Sleeve is a great aesthetic for practices, but also gives lightweight durability for the best playmakers. Coming in white, red, black, blue, and navy blue, NXTRND’s turtleneck compression shirt currently retails for $40.

Sleeveless Compression Shirt

Another standout is the Caleb Downs-endorsed sleeveless edition for $38. With an eye-popping scarlet red, this one may not be as popular for Michigan fans, but don’t worry—it also comes in blue for the folks up in Ann Arbor.

Signature Mouthguard

Its signature NXTRND Two mouthguards are five dollars off on the company website this holiday season, selling for $20. They come in a multitude of colors, with a price range similar to other football-specific mouthguards. The guards are one-size-fits-all with a permanent strap.

“Sheisty” Masks

Their “sheisty” masks are also a bestseller. Popular as a fashion symbol in all weather, youth players have made the standard balaclava a sign of aggression and swagger on the gridiron.  I’m a fan of the camouflage colorway, particularly, though there are over a dozen to choose from. The masks currently retail for $25 on the site.

From a small Québec startup to a cross-border online retailer with a broad catalog and affordable deals, NXTRND is the next big name in youth football gear.
