Nike’s G.T. Cut 4 is Built for the Modern Hooper

Nike just announced the release date for the latest edition of its “Greater Than” shoe series: The G.T. Cut 4.
These shoes aren’t the name brand signature shoes of a major NBA star, so they may be overlooked by burgeoning hoopers. But don’t sleep on this iconic shoe set to be released in January 2026. The silhouette fuses cutting-edge innovation and futuristic design to provide players with best-in-class cushioning, traction, stability and fit. In the modern-day faster-paced game, those are essential tools for today’s growing athletes.
Taking a Look

According to Nike Basketball’s Vice President & Creative Director Ross Klein, the G.T. Cut 4 “pushes the game forward and is built to match the feel, speed and creativity of today’s athletes with Nike Basketball’s most advanced innovation yet.”
The development of this model involved deep insight into the movements and mentality of modern basketball players, where versatility, speed and multidirectional agility define performance.
A Modern Shoe for Modern Buckets
WNBA star Paige Bueckers tested the shoes on the court this summer at the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend.
Bueckers’ game combines extreme technical skill with pro athleticism — she’s the prototypical two-guard. Known as Paige “Buckets” for her scoring ability, Bueckers needs supreme comfort, agility, and speed in order to play her best as basketball continues to evolve into a more complex and athletic game. As such, the G.T. Cut 4 is an important signal into how brands like Nike are reacting to on-the-court needs of athletes.

The Specs

At the core of the G.T. Cut 4’s performance is its supreme cushioning platform. According to Nike, the shoe has a “low-profile, snug and comfortable fit,” featuring a “3D-molded collar, molded vamp tongue, and exoskeleton-casted containment upper that enable seamless, multidirectional movement.”
According to Nike, the shoe features a ZoomX 3.0 midsole and parabolic Zoom Strobel that work alongside RBR-X foam for enhanced stability and a cushlon carrier for added support.
In short, the G.T. Cut 4 is built for today’s basketball: fast-paced, agile, and good for a ton of quick cuts and lateral movement.
Be on the lookout for the drop this January. According to HypeBeast, the shoe is expected to retail for $210, but no official price points have been confirmed yet.
